Are you craving to travel and see the world but need advice for your journey? Traveling is fun, but without structure, the trip could go south pretty quickly. In order to have a successful trip, it is important to set goals and have somewhat of a plan for the activities, restaurants and other things you plan to do on the trip. If you don’t know where to start, no stress, here is a travel guide with everything you need to prepare for a successful vacation.
Talk things out
Gathering the people that you are planning to go on the trip with is an essential part of going on vacation. Either having a zoom meeting or an in person meeting to talk about the goals, activities, and everything that goes into the trip will help set expectations. It is also good to have open communication to prevent any hiccups or fights that could possibly happen along the way. On my most recent trip I went on with friends, we made a list of boundaries and rules to follow in order to have a smooth trip and it helped us tremendously. At first I was hesitant about this, but it really worked out in the end. I highly recommend this, especially with a trip with a big group of people. This is travel guide 101.
When figuring out what to bring on a trip, it can be tricky to figure out everything you will need. It is easy to overpack and I am very guilty of this, but the last thing you need is to be logging around a huge luggage with clothes that you do not need. Look up the weather for the destination you were going to and pack accordingly. Very travel guide you read will recommend this. I also recommend coordinating outfits before the trip for every day that you were on it. You don’t necessarily have to stick to the plan, but it will give you structure and will make it easier for you to pack. Also, when it comes to skin care, shampoos, make up and any other products, you should probably pack small things. I highly recommend shopping for toiletries because this makes your luggage 10 times lighter. Packing lately is a key to a good trip.
Pack items that will occupy you
One traveling, it is very easy to get bored. If you have nothing to keep you busy, a plane ride or a day at the beach can easily go south. Prevent this from happening, you should definitely pack a book, your iPad, or some AirPods. Whatever thing that makes you occupied during the lull periods of a trip will definitely be essential. For me, on a plane ride, I enjoy reading a book because it keeps my mind flowing and makes time pass easily. Reading is not for everybody, so pack what you think will keep you happy and busy. Coloring books are also a great option for trips and will keep you on your feet and have your mind flowing. Listening to music is also a great way to keep busy. I know for me, I like to listen to a new album on trips. Opening my mind up to new music during boring parts of a trip such as a plane ride makes those times go a lot quicker.
Plan your days
One of the most important parts of a trip is having a schedule of things to do. If you don’t have a schedule, you and the members of your trip could easily get bored. To prevent this from happening, you should plan a set list of activities before your adventure. This is a travel guide must. You should also talk this out with the group of people you were going on the trip with so everyone could agree on activities to do. This is very important because some people might not want to do certain activities. Planning activities that everybody loves will bring you and your friends and family closer together on your getaway.
Check your passport
Once you book this trip, check your passport right away. There are many horror stories where people forget to check their passport and then I have to renew it a couple of days before the trip. This could cause a lot of chaos and unwanted stress. This has happened to me before and I don’t wish it upon anybody. Also, make sure you always have your passport on you at all times. I’ve also known people who have forgotten their passport on the way to the airport. This is more common than you think. When you were juggling your luggage, your carry-on and other items, it is very easy to lose sight of your passport. Also, when you get to the hotel that you’re staying at, put your passport in your safe. Don’t carry it around with you. Because if you lose it, you’ll have a lot of trouble getting back home. So please, don’t get yourself in this situation.
Live in the moment
Vacations go by quick and it is easy to not take in everything on a trip. I highly recommend taking a moment to look around and just take in the scenery and the people around you. The truth is you will never relive this exact experience, so just be grateful for the moment. You also might not visit where you are at for a pretty long time, so be grateful for the awesome vacation you just went on. Taking pictures are essential for living your best life on the trip and will capture all of the moments.
Going on a vacation with the people you love is an amazing experience and I hope that your next trip is just as special as the trips I’ve been on with family and friends. With my travel guide, you are guaranteed to have a great time on your adventures. Live in the moment, take lots of pictures, and have the best time on your trip!
