Barcelona are ready to ‘go to war’ with unwanted striker Martin Braithwaite, as they attempt to get the forward out of the Nou Camp.
After spending millions this summer on incoming signings, Barcelona are in a bit of financial turmoil that has seen them still not being able to register all their new boys.
In order to do so however, the club are in desperate need of getting rid of certain players, with Frenkie de Jong’s possible departure the big one, that continues to drag on.
The club are annoyed that he has no interest in going and, according to SPORT, will go to ‘war’ with him and terminate his contract at the end of the transfer window, if he continues to refuse to go.
According to the report, the club are even looking into ways that they won’t even have to pay the 31-year-old for the wages remaining on his deal.
The club had wanted to sell or loan him out, and there were reportedly offers on the table, but he has no interest in leaving the club.
Samuel Umtiti, Neto and Oscar Mingueza have all also been given the chance to leave for nothing this summer, with the latter two having gone.
Umtiti has been made into a villain at the Nou Camp over the past year for not wanting to leave and the same is now happening to Braithwaite.
Xavi wants to add a new right back to his squad but needs to sell the American first, in order to make sure they can get him off their wage budget.
