Ronaldo Nazario has teased fans around the world after releasing the official trailer for his upcoming documentary titled ‘The Phenomenon’.

The Brazilian legend announced on Twitter that the DAZN original documentary will be released next month.

He said: “Today’s my birthday and to celebrate, I’d like to announce The Phenomenon – a DAZN Original telling the true story of my career – will be released next month

“Here’s a little teaser featuring some friends remembering when I was the best player in the world.” You can watch the trailer below.

Some of the biggest names in world football will be involved in the programme, including the likes of Paolo Maldini, Zinedane Zidane, Diego Simeone and Roberto Carlos.

The trailer ended with the ultimate cliffhanger as it mentioned the 1998 World Cup final, where Ronaldo was temporarily removed from Brazil’s starting line up after suffering a convulsive fit in his room.

He said after the match: “We lost the World Cup but I won another cup – my life.”

Former Liverpool striker Daniel Sturridge tweeted that he is looking forward to watching the documentary.

He wrote: “Can’t wait to watch this. My fav striker of all time just ahead of Thierry Henry.”

Fans also express their excitement on social media.

One fan said: “He was unbelievable and changed the no9. I can not wait for this.”

Another tweeted: “What a player, a joy to watch growing up, looking forward to this.”

Another fan added: “Cannot wait for this, it is going to be an incredible watch. One of the best players ever to play the game.”

Ronaldo, R9, was one of the best players to ever grace a football pitch. He showed his talent as a youngster at Dutch side PSV Eindhoven as he averaged one goal per game.

In the 96/97 season, Ronaldo produced one of the greatest individual seasons the world has ever seen when he was playing for Barcelona.

He managed to score 47 goals in 49 appearances and won his first of three FIFA World Player of the Year awards in 1996, at just 20 years old.

In 1997, he got his hands on the prestigious Ballon d’Or award aged 21. To date, he is still the youngest ever recipient of the famous accolade.

However, knee injuries suffered during his time with Inter Milan hindered Ronaldo’s career big time, if it wasn’t for the injury problems he would for sure be in a league of his own.
