It appears Colby Covington isn’t the only die-hard Trump supporter among the UFC ranks.

Covington’s former friend turned arch-rival Jorge Masvidal has also backed Donald Trump to come out on top in the US Presidential election.

The Florida native was even snapped sharing a McDonald’s meal with Donald Jnr during their campaign tour together.

In a picture posted on social media, Masvidal said: “I knew @realDonaldTrump was legit when his son @DonaldJTrumpJr told me we share the same diet plan.

“Good food. Good hair. Good riddance socialism.”

Unlike the massively-outspoken Covington, 35-year-old Masvidal has been rather reserved down the years when it comes to revealing his political affiliations.

Until recently, it seems.

It’s understood Masvidal’s father arrived in Miami after fleeing communist-led Cuba as a teeneager – and it was his own experiences which ultimately played a big role in shaping Masvidal’s political beliefs in the United States.

“Since I was about knee high I’ve been hearing about the horrors of communism and socialism,” he said.

“We either re-elect president Trump and keep American great again, or we let Joe Biden and the radical left take us down the slippery slopes of socialism and misery.”

In a matter of two short years, veteran fighter Masvidal has quickly become one of the biggest names in the sport of mixed martial arts.

His devastating knockout wins over Darren Till and Ben Askren well and truly catapulted him into superstardom.

But it was his victory over fellow fan a favourite Nate Diaz which earned ‘Gamebred’ the ‘Baddest Mother F*****’ belt and subsequently a title shot against welterweight king Kamaru Usman on Fight Island – albeit on short notice.

Masvidal came up short on the night, but a win over his rival Covington would undoubtedly put him in line for a rematch against Usman.
